Summary
Dan creates effective economic and climate policy and helps build organizations. He was the strategy and operations lead at a startup organization that engages directly impacted communities in policy development and advocacy. He has managed policy and programmatic portfolios across economic and workforce development, climate, criminal justice, and government innovation in several state and local governments.
Education
Delivery Experience
Dan helps lead a team working with the New York City Mayor's Office on its priorities, which include making mental health services more accessible and affordable, improving nutrition—and nutrition education—in the City's public schools, and improving the lives of children and families in the shelter system.
Other Experience
As the Associate Director of Next100, Dan supported the policy and advocacy work of 16 rising leaders and helped grow the organization. He also published across several issue areas, including the intersections of climate change and economic opportunity, and how the policy sector’s talent practices can better advance equity.
As a Senior Advisor in the NYC Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity, Dan designed, managed, and evaluated numerous programs and initiatives.
At Harvard’s Government Performance Lab, Dan worked with state and local governments as the lead consultant on projects focused on criminal justice reform, transportation, government contracting with minority- and women-owned businesses, youth development, and financial innovation.
Dan began his career as a high school social studies teacher and soccer coach, and then worked at a social services agency.
